How to make Turmeric Powder Using The Matchless Grinder
The first thing your should do is to wash the turmeric rhizomes thoroughly. It is not necessary to remover the outer skin because it will dry out.
Slice the turmeric in to thin evenly sized slices. Same size slices make all the slices dry evenly. The ideal thickness of a slice is 1/8 to 1/4th of an inch.
Spread the turmeric slices evenly on food dehydrator trays to dry. Make sure slices are not piled up on top of one another. There should be enough space for good airflow between the slices.
Use your dehydrator or the oven to dry the turmeric slices. To ensure maximum retention of the nutritional value the ideal temperature is between 100 – 110°F. A temperature around 130°F will make the drying faster. However, the drying time will depend on the condition of your dehydrator or oven as well as how the turmeric was prepared.
Before you take the turmeric out of the dehydrator or the oven, check if all the slices are completely and evenly dried. If slices bend without breaking in half, allow to dry a little longer till it cracks with a snapping sound.
After the Turmeric is fully dry, remove it from the dehydrator or the oven and use your powerful mixer Grinder to grind all the slices in to fine turmeric powder.
